According to the Washington Agreement of 4 September 2020, where it was formalized mutual recognition between the Republic of Kosovo and the State of Israel, and in line with the Commitment of the Government of Kosovo to the Israeli Government and the US Administration, as well as actions taken since February 1st, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora announces the official opening of the Kosovo Embassy in the State of Israel, with its headquarter in Jerusalem.
During the ceremony of establishing diplomatic relations on 1 February 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Mr. Gabriel Ashkenazi, unveiled the plaque of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Jerusalem.
Due to the pandemic situation, the representatives of the State of Kosovo were unable to be present in Jerusalem, thus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has instructed the Charge d'Affaires in Israel to place at the building of the Kosovo Embassy in Jerusalem the plaque of Kosovo, unveiled by Minister Ashkenazi, along with the Kosovo flag.
Placement of the plaques and the state flag at the Kosovo Embassy in Israel reflects the Government of Kosovo’s commitment to comply with the pledge for establishing the diplomatic mission to Jerusalem.
The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Jerusalem will be strongly committed to increase bilateral cooperation, as well as to strengthen international subjectivity of the state of Kosovo.
