Deputy Minister Ahmeti is in Italy, as he receives support for European integration processes

Rome, 26 October 2021 - During the second day of his official visit to Rome, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mr Kreshnik Ahmeti, was received in a meeting by the president of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Italian Parliament, Mr Piero Fassino, and then held a hearing with other members of this committee.

During the meeting with president Fassino, as well as with the Italian Parliament committee he chairs, they discussed the current priorities of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and how these priorities can be assisted by Italy, with special emphasis on the field of economy and in the process of moving faster towards European integration.

Mr Fassino stressed that Italy is an unreserved supporter of the faster integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU and that this position is held by the Italian authorities at every meeting or summit within the EU.

On the other hand, Deputy Minister Ahmeti, after making a broad presentation of the priorities and reforms undertaken by the Kurti Government, spoke about the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, the political and security situation in the region and in Kosovo, the local elections that showed high level of development of democracy in Kosovo and the economic situation that has begun to show strong signs of improvement.
