Deputy Minister Ahmeti received in a meeting the Chief of the Australian Embassy in Zagreb

Prishtina, 2 June 2022 - The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mr Kreshnik Ahmeti, received in a meeting the Chief of the Australian Embassy in Zagreb, covering the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Andrea Biggi.

Mr Ahmeti thanked Mr Biggi for the continuous support that Australia has provided to the Republic of Kosovo, especially during the last war period, when over 4,000 refugees from Kosovo were sheltered there.

During the meeting they discussed about the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in various international organizations and the establishment of bilateral relations with different countries. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Ahmeti thanked the Australian diplomat for Australia's permanent support for Kosovo's domestick and international development.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to security and defense issues in the regions of both countries. The malignant influence of third countries was said to be a concern for both countries and that cooperation in this area is very necessary.

Mr Biggi thanked Deputy Minister Ahmeti for the welcome, and both stressed the readiness to deepen cooperation between Australia and Kosovo in all areas of common interest.
