Meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland

Prishtina, 6 June 2022 - The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, received today the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Szymon Szynkowksi vel Sęk, who is paying an official visit to Kosovo.

During the meeting, Minister Gërvalla informed the Polish Deputy Foreign Minister about the overall development of Kosovo, Kosovo's strategic orientation in the Euro-Atlantic integration processes and expressed the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to deepen cooperation with Poland in all areas of common interest.

In the meeting, Minister Gërvalla emphasized the fact that Kosovo has met all the criteria for visa liberalization and asked for Poland's support to enable the free movement of Kosovo citizens and in the process of accession to international organizations.

The close cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, i.e., Kosovo and Poland, was concretized today with the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Diplomatic Academies of the two respective ministries.

Similarly, Russia's aggression in Ukraine was given a special place during the conversation at the meeting. On this occasion, Minister Gërvalla expressed solidarity both with Ukraine and Poland, which is carrying the main burden of assistance to Ukrainian refugees.
