Deputy Minister Kreshnik Ahmeti met the delegation of the Commission for European Integration from Croatia

Prishtina, 15 June 2022 - The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, hosted today in a meeting the delegation of the Commission for European Integration from Croatia, led by the Chair of the Commission, Domagoj Hajdukovic. Part of this meeting was also MP Ermina Lekaj Prljaskaj, the Chair of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group Croatia-Albania and the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Kosovo, Danijela Barisic.
 

Deputy Minister Ahmeti appreciated the Croatian delegation for the visit, and briefed them on the latest developments in Kosovo.

During the meeting was also discussed about the excellent relations between the two countries. Special attention was paid to Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integration process. Mr. Ahmeti informed the Croatian delegation about the interest of the Republic of Kosovo for full membership in the Council of Europe, but also on this year's goal to apply for EU membership, as well as to conculde a Partnership for Peace agreement with NATO, as a step towards full membership in this Alliance.

Given the fact that Mr. Hajdukovic is the Vice President of the Group of Social Democrats and Greens within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the interlocutors discussed in more detail the procedures and forms of coordination for a fast and successful process of membership of the Republic of Kosovo in this organization, which is important for the citizens of the country.
 

The will of the Parliamentary Committees for European Integration of both countries to sign a cooperation agreement between them, is a sign of intensive and ever-evolving relations between our countries. Mr. Ahmeti expressed the readiness of the MFAD to assist in this process.

Both delegations agreed to keep close communication regarding the implementation of ideas presented throughout various meetings that the Croatian delegation had in the Republic of Kosovo.
