Prishtina, July 11, 2022 - The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs. Donika Gërvalla Schwarz, during today hosted in a meeting the delegation of representatives of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, composed of Mrs. Harriett Baldwin, Member of Parliament and Chairwoman of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Mr. Martin Vickers, MP, UK Prime Minister's Envoy for Trade in the Western Balkans and co-chairman of the APPG for Kosovo, Mr. Alex Sobel, MP, also co-chairman of APPG for Kosovo, Mr. Luke Pollard, Member of Parliament, at the same time shadow minister for defense as well as deputy chairman of APPG for Kosovo, Mr. Stephen Doughty, MP and Shadow Minister for Europe and the Americas, Mr. Richard Le Vay, head of internal policy and communications at the British Embassy in Pristina and Holly Sloan, manager of international projects.
Also, in this meeting present the ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Mr. Ilir Kapiti was present.
Within this meeting, current political topics at the local, regional and international level were discussed, as well as topics regarding the close cooperation in the field of economy and other spheres. On this occasion, discussions about joint efforts in the field of safety to prevent any destabilizing situation, joint efforts and contribution to the measures against the Russian Federation in the event of the invasion of Ukraine had a special emphasis.
An important part of this meeting was the possibility of cooperation in the field of economy and other spheres aimed at advancing the number of investments and at the same time enhancing cooperation in this field.
Another topic of discussion was the Green Agenda and solar energy.
A result of this meeting was the commitment for cooperation and support regarding the consolidation of the Citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo as well as the integration into other International Organizations and mechanisms.
Within the agenda of today's meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs. Donika Gërvalla Schwarz accompanied the delegation to the "Heroines" Memorial, which portrays the survivors of sexual violence during the 1999 Kosovo war and their contribution to the country's history.
